PLUS CITY city simulator game world

01 — HOLIDAY SNOWMAN

For the New Year event, the city had a large snowman who gave gifts to players. I worked on the character animation in Blender, making sure the motion felt festive and readable in the city scene.

I also worked on the NavMesh around the character, prepared the asset for integration, and set up the prefab in Unity so it could behave correctly in the game environment.

02 — STADIUM TEXT SCREEN

The Stadium building has an information panel with text on it. This text had to feel like it was displayed on a real screen made of pixels, not just placed on top of the model.

I wrote an HLSL shader that imitates a CRT-style pixel screen effect. It helped the text sit naturally inside the environment while still staying readable during gameplay.

For the second pass, I also had to edit the 3D model so the projection would land correctly on the building. Without that model cleanup, the screen effect could not align cleanly with the shape of the house.

03 — REWARD CONFETTI EFFECT

What mobile game is complete without a little confetti? For the reward flow, I did not want to use sprite animation for this effect.

Instead, I wrote a shader that imitates the same behavior an animator would create. The result is an optimized GPU-driven animation, which keeps the effect playful while giving us good performance.

This is the final reward window with the effect applied. The animation had to feel celebratory, but still stay clean enough for a UI screen.

I also reused the same animation idea for a smaller icon version, where the effect had to read at a much smaller scale.
